Fitness Conditioning Centre (FCC) Guide Singapore: Bedok, Khatib, Kranji & CMPB Compared
By Adrian Tan | Last updated: August 2026
NSmen can take their IPPT and NS FIT sessions at four Fitness Conditioning Centres in Singapore: CMPB, Kranji, Bedok, and Khatib. Maju FCC closed permanently in October 2025, with its operations moved to the new CMPB facility near Cashew MRT. Each FCC serves a different part of the island, and the right one for you usually comes down to where you live, whether you drive or take public transport, and whether you want a sheltered track.
I have coached NSmen through IPPT prep for over 15 years, and the venue question comes up in almost every session now. Since Maju shut its doors, half my clients aren’t sure which FCC to book, or whether the one near their old MRT stop even still runs IPPT. This guide walks through what changed, where each FCC actually sits, and what to expect when you get there.
What Happened to Maju FCC
Maju FCC served NSmen for over three decades before its IPPT and NS FIT operations were permanently transferred to CMPB in October 2025. If you used to book Maju out of habit, that option is gone for NSmen. CMPB is now the closest replacement for anyone coming from the west or central regions. Note that pre-enlistee IPPT bookings still run separately through CMPB’s Wednesday sessions regardless of which FCC an NSman later chooses.
The Four FCCs at a Glance
*Bedok’s exact street number is drawn from consistent third-party directory listings rather than a direct government confirmation: the official ns.sg listing doesn’t publish this street number. Call the NS Call Centre at 1800-367-6767 to confirm before your visit if you’re heading there for the first time.
| FCC | Address | Track Type | Nearest MRT |
|---|---|---|---|
| CMPB | Level 1, Block 1, #01-101, 91 Hillview Link, S(669723) | Sheltered, all-weather (not open to public outside sessions) | Cashew (direct linkbridge) |
| Kranji | Blk 912, Level 2, 91 Choa Chu Kang Way, S(688256) | Indoor 2.4km route + outdoor 400m track | Yew Tee (5-min walk) |
| Khatib | 302 Sembawang Rd, Level 1, Blk 5, S(758534) | Outdoor track | Khatib (North-South Line) |
| Bedok | 768 Upper East Coast Rd, Blk 139, Level 1, S(465557)* | Outdoor track | Tanah Merah area |
All four FCCs run on the same booking system through OneNS, and you can book up to three months ahead. I tell every NSman I coach: book early. Slots at CMPB especially fill up fast right now because so many former Maju users are still adjusting to it. Not sure what score you’re training for? Run the numbers on our IPPT score calculator before you book.
CMPB FCC: The Former Maju Replacement
CMPB sits at 91 Hillview Link, connected directly to Cashew MRT station by a linkbridge. This is the newest FCC in the network, built to serve around 60,000 NSmen a year, roughly 48,000 for IPPT and 12,000 for NS FIT.
The running track is sheltered and all-weather, which is the single biggest reason NSmen ask me about it. One thing worth knowing before you go: this track is not open to the public outside of scheduled IPPT and NS FIT sessions, so you can’t drop in to train on it whenever you like.
From what NSmen tell me after their sessions, the track uses a 300m loop rather than the standard 400m, which means eight laps instead of six for the 2.4km run. It trips a few people up the first time, since the pacing rhythm feels different when you’re counting eight laps instead of six. If you’re used to a 400m track, run at least one practice session here before your actual test so the lap count doesn’t throw off your pacing.
The facility also has an increased number of score-checking kiosks and screens in the briefing areas, which cuts down waiting time between stations compared to the old Maju setup.
Kranji FCC: The Only Indoor-Outdoor Combination
Kranji, inside Kranji Camp near the Kranji Expressway, is the only FCC in Singapore with both an indoor 2.4km running route and an outdoor 400m track. The indoor route exists specifically so the 2.4km test can go ahead in bad weather without anyone needing to reschedule. best places to train for your 2.4km run
It’s a five-minute walk from Yew Tee MRT, which makes it convenient for anyone in Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang, or Tuas.
One access change to know before you go: as of early 2026, you can no longer enter through Kranji Camp 2. Entry and exit are now only through Kranji Camp 3, whether you’re driving or walking in. This is a permanent change, not a temporary detour, so don’t rely on old directions if it’s been a while since your last visit here.
The indoor track has a few sharp turns near the start based on what NSmen who’ve run it recently describe. It won’t affect your score, but it’s worth knowing so you’re not caught off guard mid-run.
Bedok FCC: For NSmen in the East
Bedok FCC runs on a traditional outdoor track, which means weather can factor into your run on test day in a way it won’t at CMPB or Kranji. For NSmen living in Tampines, Pasir Ris, or the eastern estates, it’s usually the shortest commute regardless.
For practical tips on adapting your training to Singapore’s climate, see our guide to training through Singapore’s heat and humidity.
If rain is forecast for your booked slot, build in flexibility to reschedule rather than pushing through, since a wet track adds real risk on turns.
Khatib FCC: For NSmen in the North
Khatib serves NSmen from Yishun, Sembawang, and the surrounding northern estates. Like Bedok, it runs on an outdoor track.
Booking and Timing
All four FCCs run to the same weekly schedule set by MINDEF:
- Monday: 1700 hrs and 1900 hrs (NS FIT only)
- Tuesday–Thursday: 1700 hrs, 1800 hrs (IPPT), 1900 hrs (NS FIT)
- Saturday: 0730 hrs, 1700 hrs (IPPT); 0930 hrs, 1800 hrs, 1900 hrs (NS FIT)
- Sunday: 0730 hrs (IPPT); 0930 hrs (NS FIT)
Report 15 minutes before your session starts. Each session runs about 1.5 hours including in-processing, briefing, and out-processing. FCCs can also close around public holidays and the June and December school holiday periods. If your IPPT window ends during either stretch, don’t leave your booking to the last week. Check the NS Portal for exact closure dates closer to the time.
A Note for Servicewomen
The same four FCCs, booking system, and weekly schedule apply to female Regulars in the SAF, SPF, and SCDF. If you’re a Servicewoman preparing for your test, check your target score and required reps using our Female IPPT Calculator before you book your session.
A Safety Note Worth Taking Seriously
In mid-2025, an NSman collapsed and passed away shortly after completing an NS FIT session near Maju Camp. SAF paused NS FIT training island-wide afterward to review safety protocols. I bring this up not to alarm anyone, but because it’s a real reminder that pacing, hydration, and knowing your own limits matter more than pushing for a personal best on any given day. If you feel unwell during or after a session, tell the staff on-site immediately. Don’t wait until you get home.
