Free public running tracks in Singapore for IPPT 2.4km training, including Great Eastern Promenade, Bishan, Serangoon, Bedok, Queenstown and Clementi stadiums

Free Public Running Tracks in Singapore for IPPT Training

Last updated: 27 August 2026 | Written by Adrian Tan, IPPT Trainer and Fitness Content Specialist

If you want to train on an actual measured track instead of a park loop, Singapore has several free, public options: Great Eastern Promenade (formerly 100PLUS Promenade), Bishan Stadium, Serangoon Stadium, Bedok Stadium, Queenstown Stadium, and Clementi Stadium. All of them let you run laps on a proper track surface at no cost, which makes pacing and lap-counting far more precise than an open park path. If you’d rather train in a park instead, our 2.4km run training spots guide covers those options.

Track training gives you something park loops can’t: a fixed, known distance every single lap. When I’m coaching someone who keeps misjudging their pace on race day, I move them onto a stadium track for a few sessions specifically so they can feel exactly what a sub-6-minute kilometre pace looks like, lap after lap, without guessing. If you want to check where your pace currently stands, run it through the IPPT score calculator first.

Great Eastern Promenade: Sheltered and Open 24/7

Great Eastern Promenade circles the National Stadium at the Singapore Sports Hub and is the largest fully sheltered running track in the country, measuring 888 metres. Until March 2026 it was known as the 100PLUS Promenade; the track itself hasn’t changed, just the name and sponsor. It’s free, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and, notably, it has distance markings on its blue lane specifically calibrated for the 2.4km run.

Being sheltered means weather is never a factor here, which makes it one of the most reliable options if you’re training around an unpredictable forecast. It can occasionally be cordoned off during major events at the National Stadium, so it’s worth checking ahead if you’re planning around a specific date. Nearest MRT is Stadium station.

Bishan Stadium: Central, 8-Lane Track

Bishan Stadium at 7 Bishan Street 14 offers a 400 metre synthetic 8-lane track, open to the public daily from 4:30am to 9:30pm unless it’s been booked out for an event. A standard 400m track means six laps gets you almost exactly to 2.4km, which makes pace-per-lap math simple. Nearest MRT is Bishan.

Serangoon Stadium: Full-Sized Track in the Northeast

Located at 33 Yio Chu Kang Road under the Serangoon Sport Centre, this stadium offers a full-sized running track alongside other sports facilities. It’s a convenient pick if you’re coming from the Serangoon, Hougang, or Ang Mo Kio areas, and there are food options nearby at NEX mall if you want to refuel after a session. Nearest MRT is Serangoon.

Bedok Stadium: East Side Option

Bedok Stadium, at 1 Bedok North Street 2, has an 8-lane running track and is part of a larger complex that includes Bedok Swimming Complex and Bedok Sports Hall. It’s open daily from 4:30am to 9:30pm unless booked for an event. This is a practical option if you live in the east and are already training at Bedok Reservoir or Bedok FCC, since it’s within the same general area.

Queenstown Stadium: Longer Public Hours

Queenstown Stadium offers a standard 400m track and stays open slightly later than the Bishan and Bedok stadiums, from 4:30am to 9:30pm daily. It’s a 10-minute walk from Queenstown MRT, making it accessible without a car.

Clementi Stadium: West Side Option

Clementi Stadium’s track is open daily from 4:30am to 9:30pm, free to use, with no entry fees, the same extended public-access window as Queenstown. If you’re in the western part of the island and want a track over a park loop, this is a straightforward option.
